Objectives

The Center aims to:

1. Promote cultural, social, and national awareness.

3. Strengthen relationships within the university community and beyond.

5. To elevate the scholarly discourse on Kurdish studies through rigorous research and publication.
6. To foster interdisciplinary dialogue and international cooperation among scholars and researchers.
7. To disseminate research findings to a broad audience, including policymakers, educators, and the general public.

Milestones and Key Outputs

The Center aims to stimulate new academic and cultural exchanges between the Kurdish people and the wider regional and international community. By addressing the current dearth of institutionalized research in Kurdish studies, we seek to foster a deeper understanding of Kurdish culture, history, and society.

Undertake international research activities in the fields of arts, humanities and social sciences, leading to peer-reviewed publication and the public dissemination of research findings.

Research programmed are driven by two key objectives: 

1) To produce and publish books and research papers in accordance with normal academic practice; 

2) To lead, design and deliver a series of public lectures and international seminars.

Enhancing Community Engagement and Cultural Impact

The Center fosters a vibrant cultural environment by actively engaging with students and the broader Kurdish community in Erbil and across the Kurdistan Region. We facilitate a diverse range of cultural events, including exhibitions showcasing Kurdish and international art, photography, and music. Also, these events are open to the public and often organized in collaboration with various cultural, academic, governmental, and non-governmental institutions.

Methods

To achieve these objectives, the Center employs various strategies, including:

• Organizing cultural seasons with renowned personalities.
• Participating in national and ethnic celebrations.
• Curating historical, documentary, and art exhibitions.
• Hosting social and artistic events.
• Providing hospitality services for conferences, seminars, and workshops.
