In the presence of Dr. Ali İhsan Doğramacı, Head of the governing board of Bilkent University and Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye, President of Salahaddin University, and over 100 specialist academics in linguistics from different countries, the ninth international linguistics conference started in Ankara. The conference is organized by both Salahaddin and Bilkent Universities. On the first day of the conference speeches were made by Dr. Ali İhsan Doğramacı, Head of the governing board of Bilkent University, Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye, President of Salahaddin University, Dean of College of Languages in Salahaddin University and head of the conference preparatory committee. In his speech, the President of Salahaddin University thanked Bilkent University for their commitment to the heritage of İhsan Doğramacı family and for the support they offer to Salahaddin University in Erbil. Also Dr. Ali İhsan Doğramacı welcomed Salahaddin University delegation and promised to hold the tenth linguistics conference in Salahaddin University in Erbil. Bilkent University has decided to open a video conference hall in Salahaddin University to enable teachers and students to benefit from the lectures given by renowned lecturers in Bilkent in different specialized areas. In the two-day conference over 60 research papers on linguistics will be presented. Among these papers, a noticeable number will be presented by Salahaddin University teachers. In addition to his participation in the conference, Salahaddin University President also paid respect to the late İhsan Doğramacı. It is worth mentioning that Bilkent University is a high ranking international university. It ranks 226th among the top 400 world universities.
