Under the auspices and with the presence of the Ministry of Higher Education Dr Yousif Goran, Erbil Governor Nawzad Hadi, Head of KDP Branch 2 Ahmed Kani, SUE president Dr Ahmed Dezaye and a number of college deans, instructors, local and international researchers, the first conference on water and energy prepared by College of Engineering went underway in the Social and Cultural Centre of SUE.

SUE president delivered in which he declared that the university will continue to promote the initiatives which are related to the future of Kurdistan Region from all walks of life.

Later, Erbil governor highlighted the importance of the conference carried out especially when the impending difficulties in the region are related to water and energy.

In the official speech of the conference, His Excellency the Minister of Higher education explained the objectives of the conference which he described as strategic for the future of KRG. He also showed the willingness to work with the parties working in that field.  He also extended thanks to SUE for having recently arranged a number of conferences which have contributed to higher education in KRG.

Finally, the Dean of College of Engineering demonstrated the program of the conference which lasted for two days.
