SUE holds 40th day ceremony in the memory of the late journalist Arkan Sherif
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—Media Department in College of Arts at SUE held the 40th day commemoration of the death of the late journalist Arkan Sherif.
The grieving family and number of politicians, officials, university teachers and students were present. A number of speeches were delivered in which the majority condemned how he was brutally murdered by the Popular Mobilizing Forces (PMF) in Daquq.
The family speech was delivered by the brother of the deceased in which he condemned the violent death which was done in front of his family. Later, fifty flowers were laid on the picture of the late journalist as a symbol of 50 years of his age.
Also, a photography exhibition by Mohammed Kirkuki (a young man who threw down the Iraqi flag in Kirkuk which went viral on social media) was held. The exhibition depicted the betrayal and the brutality carried out by PMF.
