The president of Salahaddin University, Associate Professor Dr Ahmed Dezaye, has received a delegation representing the Sudanese Consulate General Erbil in the presidency’s Divan. The delegation was represented by the Consul General Mr Yasin Auz Ismael as well as his fellows. Throughout the meeting, strengthening relationship between Sudanese and Kurdistan region universities were discussed especially with Salahaddin University as it is considered the most prestigious university and holder of higher Education source within the region. Also, Salahaddin University leads a major role within the universities in the Arab world considering its activities and achievements in the Arab Universities Union. Moreover, the coming summit of Arabic Universities Union (to be held in Sudan) was highlighted including discussions about the activities of this union, which has become a set stone of exchange among all universities tackling upon the positive changes of scientific and academic level of higher education.
In the meeting between the president and the consul general, references were made regarding student exchange program between Sudan and students of Salahaddin in Kurdistan Region, especially those who will participate in the summit and visit Kurdistan Region for Training in order to benefit from the experience, culture and academia of Salahaddin University as well as get familiar with the Kurdish customs and traditions. Eventually, light was shed regarding the problems and obstacles of Kurdish students who are currently studying in Sudan that a proper mechanism to solve their issues to be set through the Consulate General of Republic of Sudan in Erbil.
