In the presidency office, Asst. Prof. Dr Ahmed Dezaye, University President, welcomed Tan Bang Lin, Chinese General Consul in Iraq and Deputy Consul Xian Fang Ing. In the meeting, they discussed the enhancement of cooperation between Salahaddin University and Chinese universities so that Kurdistan Region can draw on the experience of the renowned Chinese universities. Also, both parties supported the idea of sending students from the Kurdistan Region to pursue their higher education studies in the Chinese universities. Moreover, they discussed opening Confucius Institute at Salahaddin University so that they can offer Chinese language courses.
They mentioned the possibility of establishing a Chinese language department at Salahaddin University.
It is worth mentioning that Salahaddin University has a strong relationship with most of the universities worldwide, especially the universities which support opening native language departments overseas; within that framework, SU has successfully attempted establishing Persian, Turkish, German, and French languages. SU is also willing to open Chinese Department if academic and administrative support is available.
