
Salahaddin University Erbil (SUE) in collaboration with the institutes of Ainda, Rawanduz and Akre in a symposium at SUE
On Wednesday, Salahaddin University Erbil (SUE) in collaboration with the institutes of Ainda, Rawanduz and Akre held a symposium at SUE titled “The Current Crisis in the Kurdistan Region: Causes and Solutions”. The discussions were presented in three different panels.
Dr Ahmed Dezaye said that the universities should have an active role in finding solutions for the ongoing crises in the region, no matter how much pressure is put on the region economically and psychologically. Participation of academic and non-academic entities will bring valuable experience to tackle the issues.
Later Dr Bakhtiyar Sabir, the representative of the institutes highlighted the importance of the institutes despite their short-living presence in the academia. He also said that the academic centres now have to present a solution to tackle the frictions between the central and the regional government.
The symposium involved three panels in the areas of business, politics and law. The panels were titled as follows: Reform in the Administration Structure of Government, Economic and Financial Philosophy in the Kurdistan Region; Constitutional and Legal Framework for Solving the Suspending Issues between Kurdistan Regional and Federal Government; The Future of Governing in the Kurdistan Region in Face of Local Issues and International Interests
