
On the 22nd December 2014, Professor Ibrahim Hamarash, Salahaddin University Vice President for Academic Affairs, met with the split-site PhD students to follow-up their levels of achievement. He informed the student that they should submit an annual report. For this purpose he presented eight-page document to be completed within two weeks and the scientific departments should write their reviews on the document. A committee in the University‘s Presidency will assess the documents and decide whether the student should continue or not. The Vice President also reviewed the requirements of completion of PhD, the most important of which is publication of academic research papers before submitting the PhD thesis. He also discussed the importance of English language test and traveling to the partner university and that the findings of the thesis should be original before to be accepted and students examined by the scientific departments. The Vice President encouraged the students to achieve world level research quality and participate in the world‘s academic communities. He finally told the students that the achievement and result should be at level of the University‘s and KRG‘s support provided to them.It is worth mentioning that Salahaddin University has 32 joint PhD projects with foreign universities.
