Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye, the President of Salahaddin University, received a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education made of Dr. Salam Khoshnaw and Dr. Fuad Qadir, Deputies of the Minister of Higher Education, Directors General of Higher Education and Finance in the Federal Ministry of Higher Education and President of University of Anbar.
First the University President welcomed the delegation and talked about strengthening relations between universities in the middle and south of Iraq with universities in Kurdistan in general and Salahaddin University in particular. The delegation, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Higher education, thanked Salahaddin University for the support and facilitation provided to universities in the middle and south of Iraq, in particular universities of Anbar, Mosul and Tikrit after their cities fall under the control of ISIS terrorist group. Dr. Salam Khoshnaw, Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs, thanked the University President, staff and teachers for hosting the three universities in these difficult times, when the Kurdistan Region and Salahaddin Universities go through financial crisis. The University President expressed willingness to offer any assistance to universities in the war zone.
It is worth mentioning that universities of Anbar, Mosul and Tikrit halted the education process after ISIS invasion of their areas. Most of their teachers and students took refuge in the Kurdistan Region. Universities in Kurdistan, in particular Salahaddin University, hosted some of their students and provided the necessary facilitation during their final exams.
