Dr. Ahmed Anwar, the President of Salahaddin University, received a delegation from Cyprus East Mediterranean University (EMU), headed by Dr. Necdet Osam, Rector of EMU, Dr. Hussein, Director of Admission, and Sihad Osman Advisor of EMU. In the meeting Salahaddin University President talked about Kurdistan Universities and higher education and expressed interest in strengthening relations between Salahaddin University and universities in Cyprus. Rector of EMU expressed his gratitude for the reception and hoped to strengthen relations between the two universities. To this end he suggested to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to continue academic cooperation between them. According to the signed MoU the Cyprus East Mediterranean University (EMU) offers 20 masters and PhD scholarships in various fields, including special scholarships to children of martyrs. The EMU also plans to build 250 students apartments for Kurdistan Region‘s students to continue their higher education in the EMU. EMU is one of the leading universities in Cyprus.
It is worth mentioning that Salahaddin University has MoUs with 200 universities around the world. These MoUs has positively impacted the scientific and academic development of Salahaddin University.
