
SU president Dr Ahmed Anwar Dezaye participates in Aladdin Project supported by UNESCO in the cities of Baku and Quba in Azerbaijan. SU has been an active member of that organisation and every year two students take part in the summer training which lasts a fortnight. Among 25 students coming from different countries, SU is the only participant from Iraq.
The conference unfolded with the presence and support of Deputy Education Minister of Azerbaijan. Later, SU president delivered a speech about the current circumstances in the Kurdistan region regarding the peaceful coexistence of the interfaith and multi-ethnic society. Also in his speech, SU president lauded the heroism of the Peshmarga forces in their fight against ISIS. He further praised the KRG for becoming a safe haven for above 2 million Syrian refugees.
Finally, the president extended thanks to the host country and the project to have invited SU. He presented gifts to Deputy Education Minister and coordinators of the conference.
