Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye, the President of Salahaddin University, received a delegation of the French Institute of Near East Studies (IFPO) headed by Dr. Boris James, head of the Institute. The meeting was attended by Salahaddin University Vice President for Administration and Financial Affairs, Director of Academic Relations and Head of Department of French Language. The meeting participants discussed strengthening the Academic relations between Salahaddin University and IFPO, particularly activities such as organizing joint seminars in various areas. The Head of IFPO requested to organize a joint seminar on the current situation in Iraq and Kurdistan Region within the next week and later a seminar on investment in the Colleges of Arts and Administration and Economics. He also stated that some students in the French universities conduct PhD research on the economy, history and culture of Kurdistan, for which they need assistance. The University President expressed the University\'s readiness to offer all the necessary facilitation for joint academic activities and offer any support to French students doing research on Kurdistan. It is worth mentioning that the IFPO in a French governmental academic institute. IFPO opened in Erbil in 2013 with the aim to build cultural bridges between Kurdistan and France. IFPO conducts various academic activities with universities in Kurdistan, particularly Salahaddin University. IFPO is headed by Dr. Boris James, who has PhD in history of the Kurdish nation.
