Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dezaye, the President of Salahaddin University, upon an invitation of the American Sandia National Laboratories, participated in a workshop on the operation of laboratories, chemical factories and protection of their workers. In the three-day workshop all the Iraqi departments of chemical engineering and University of Koya participated. Salahaddin University President discussed the establishment of a department of chemical engineering in Salahaddin University, which is very important after many companies have started their oil and refinery works in Kurdistan in general and Erbil in particular. The American Sandia National Laboratories expressed their willingness to visit Kurdistan to carry out their activities in Erbil and assist Salahaddin University in opening a department of chemical engineering in the College of Engineering.
