On the occasion of the return of the Akitu Festival, I extend my warmest congratulations to the Chaldean, Assyrian and Syriac academic staff, students and administrative employees at Salahaddin University (SUE).
The Akitu Festival falls on the first day of April and continues for 12 days. Similar to the Kurdish Newroz celebrations, it also includes outdoor activities and excursions. In the Kurdistan Region, Christians have celebrated this festival since 1992.
Happy Akitu Festival, and I hope you celebrate it every year with joy and happiness.
