President of Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) Dr. Ahmed Dezaye welcomed a delegation from the German Freiburg University.
In the meeting, Dean of College of Engineering Dr. Ibrahim Hamarash and the project organizer Dr. Abdulqadir Ali were present. The development of a mechanical engineering project known as MEGI (Mech. Eng. Germany-Iraq) was discussed. The project introduced by the German university in 2009 and it has been ongoing since; a number of teachers, students, Iraqi university staff including SUE have participated in the project.
SUE president showed support for the projects that the German university wishes to carry out at SUE including holding international conferences, split-site programs, mutual symposiums, training and lab renovation.
As an initiative between both universities it was a new project was announced which was opening a higher diploma in the field of quality assurance and engineering.
SUE has fostered a strong relationship with Freiburg University which have carried out shared collaborative projects. A memorandum of understanding was signed between both universities in 2017.
