From 9 to 14 September 2024, the final package of training courses for the TeachersMOD program was held in Rome at the UNIMED institution in Italy and in Villareal at UTAD University in Portugal.
Four instructors from Salahaddin University-Erbil (SUE) participated in the training, including two from the College of Basic Education and two from the Pedagogical Training Centre.
On 9 September 2024, the first training was conducted by UNIMED in Rome, focusing on topics such as "Third Mission for Entrepreneurial Universities," "Contributing to Sustainable Developments," and "Role of Students in Higher Education."
The second part of the training took place in Villareal, Portugal. On 11 September, 2024, at UTAD University, Mr. Hawran Abdullah Said, the TeachersMOD project coordinator from the College of Basic Education, presented a topic on "TOT" and the activities of SUE trainers, which are scheduled to be delivered by 12 trainers from the College of Basic Education and the Pedagogical Centre at SUE over the next two months.
The SUE team participated in the international training with several topics:
- On 10 September 2024, Mr Hawran Abdullah Said presented "Monitoring of Syllabi Development and Updating."
- On 11 September 2024, Dr Walaa Ghazi Mahmood, Director of the Pedagogical Centre, presented "Internships for Enhancing Teaching Skills in the KRI Public Schools."
- On the same day, Asst. Prof. Dr Sami Ali Hussein presented "Recommendations for Enhancing Teaching Methodologies and Syllabi in the Field of Computer (IT) Skills."
Prof. Dr Abbas Burhan Salhi, as a trainer from the Pedagogical Centre at SUE, actively participated in enriching the training topics.
The TeachersMOD program is supervised and funded by the European Union's Erasmus program. Over the past two years, it has organized several projects, trainings, and courses in various countries. In the Kurdistan Region, universities including Salahaddin, Duhok, Zakho, Raparin, and Halabja have participated. In Europe, participating institutions include the University of Pavia in Italy, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in Portugal, the University of Granada in Spain, and UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union.
