President Masoud Barzani congratulates Salahaddin University-Erbil students on their graduation ceremony in the Referendum Round

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Dear teachers

Dear Students,

Dear distinguished guests,

It is a great pleasure today that a large number of students celebrate their graduation of the 36th round. For that reason, I congratulate the students and their families warmly and wish them all the success. I hope that benefiting from their expertise students would work hard to serve their country and live a happy and peaceful life.

I find it necessary to express sincere thanks to the beloved teachers, the University President, deans, and heads of departments of SUE for having successfully educated a considerable number of students to serve their communities and the country in the future.

Dear students,

Dear distinguished guests,

Now our nation experiences the most sensitive stage of history which is a very decisive moment. Kurdistan has enjoyed the fruition of bravery of Peshmerga, and God willing we have come close to independence. Independence is for you and the nation; it is indeed the 'repay' for the blood the martyrs have shed. It is your responsibility to support the independence and face the attempts which want to Kurdistani people not to vote and foil our struggle for the rights.

For the expertise of the teachers and students at the university to be put into practice, to serve the country and bring about progress, Kurdistan should have sovereignty and exercise willpower to benefit from the available human and natural resources.

After all the sacrifice, Kurdistani people deserve to enjoy the freedom to be a pivotal part of the international community.
In the future stages, your responsibility is valuable but heavy; the future of Kurdistan is in your hands. I ask you to work for the progress of your country with confidence, and, at the same time, promote democracy and peaceful living in Kurdistan. You are the hope of the nation, and we are looking forward to your endeavour.

I would like to congratulate you again and wish you all the success in the future stages in your life.
