A summary about College of Physical Education - Salahaddin University

College of Physical Education is one of the most important and significant colleges in University of Salahaddin, and it is known as “the mother” of other Sports Colleges in Kurdistan. Physical Education was established as a department at College of Education, Salahaddin University in 1989 until 1998 when it became an independent physical education college.

In order to provide for the requirements of teaching staff, in 1996 SU began opening MA/MSc studies and PhD studies in 1999.

At the beginning, the college was a general physical education department, now it has three academic departments and three academic and service units. This college has sent students to Iraqi universities and abroad to European countries universities to complete postgraduate studies (MA/MSc and PhD) in various sports fields and yet the process of preparing postgraduate students continues. In addition to teachers participating in several scientific conferences abroad in order to present their researches, acknowledge and share most recent sports knowledge.
