Student Requirements to Contact the College.

1-The sixth grade certificate with the stamp of the education directorate.

2-A colorful copy of  Iraqi identity.

3. A colorful copy of  identity card.

4.Four colorful photographs.

5.A support paper by the head of the city, and quarter representative.

6.The origin food card with two copies.

7.A support eye-examination paper by an examination  committee.

8-A guarantee paper of (250,000) Iraqi ,with two legal signs. 

All of these requirements should be put into a file and be offered to the departments' committees .

The Examination Instructions:

Article (1):

1-The study system in the colleges(institute) is selected by the minster of higher education and scientific research .

2-The branches council has the authority to recommend  changes in the articles for any subject, thus no more than (10%) , in the association with the college (institute) council.

Article(2):

1-The college(institute) council on the recommendation of  branches' council  select the number of  yearly marks , and the implementation process. On the condition, the yearly marks must not be lower that (30%) and not be higher than (50%) of final mark, except  those  subjects that  have scientific and practical nature which their assessment rates are left to the university council.

2-The final examinations of medicine college are general, and yearly mark for the sixth stage subjects of medicine college are counted (20%)from final mark.

Article(3):

1-The seasonal examinations or yearly examinations for the first and the second sittings are secret for all the subjects.

2- The yearly or seasonal  examinations  include the details of the subjects which are studied during the season or the year, further  the  study period of the seasonal subjects must not be less than (15)  weeks and for the yearly subjects must not be less than (30) weeks, nevertheless the study period excludes the exams and the holidays.

Article(4): 

The teachers must have accurate lesson plans for the subjects and it must be given to the students in the beginning of the year. 

Article(5):

College (institute) council on the recommendation of the dean forms a committee for the final exams. 

Article(6): 

The lowest mark to pass in any subject is (50%). 

Article(7): 

Every two seasonal subjects in colleges(institute) that count on course system are counted as one subject at the end of the year. 

Article(8): 

If students could not get the lowest mark for success in any subject in the first sitting, they would retake the exams in the second sitting in those subjects that they could not get the lowest mark to pass or they did not take the exam in the first sitting, and the yearly mark will be counted normally when they participate in the second sitting examinations.

Article(9): 

1- If students did not get the lowest mark to pass in any subject in the second sitting or they did not take any examinations the second sitting, thus  they would fail and stay one year at the same stage and take all the examinations that they failed in.

2- A failed student is asked to study those new subjects instead of the removed subjects in any change or addition in the study program.

Article(10):

Students will fail in any subject if they miss more(10%) of the selected hours for the subject without having a reasonable justification or (15%)  of the selected hours for the subject with having a reasonable justification.

Article(11):

The second sitting examinations must not be postponed under any circumstances.

Article(12):

The final marks of the successful students in the second sitting will be lessened as the following:

1- Those students who passed before 2006-2007,thier marks in the second sitting subjects are counted as the university worked on before.

2. Those students who passed in 2006-2007 and up to present, their marks in the second sitting subjects are counted as below:

- If students had examinations in the second sitting with a reasonable justification, as a result their marks would  be 50+ seventy five percent of the number above fifty ,for instance if a student gets (90) in the second sitting ,his mark will be 50+40× 50/100=70,thus his mark will  be(70) in the second sitting.

Article(13):

Branch council will examine the final results and direct them with recommendations to the college(institute) council to make decisions and announces  them. 

Article(14):

The final average of students are counted according to those marks which they get in each subject, and the times each subject is studied pre a week are taken into account.

2-Each time is equal to one theoretical weekly hour, the total period is (15) weeks.

3-Each two or three hours in a practical lesson is equal to one theoretical hour, further any more additional time for the practical lesson than mentioned above is equal to two theoretical hour. 

 Article(15):

the passed students' sequence is counted as the following:

1-/b- In the departments that have  four(4)- years studies, the yearly average is divided as the following:

 first year 10%                                                        third year 30%

second year 20%                                                    fourth year 40%

B-the average of students in each year  is counted and multiplied by the percentage ,the result will be the final average of the student.

2- In the departments that  have  five(5)- years studies, the yearly average is divided, the overall result will be the final average, as mentioned in the first point,  as the following:

the first year      5%                                                 the third year      15%

the second year 10%                                               the  fourth year   30%

the fifth year   40 % 

3- In the departments that  have  five(6)- years studies, the yearly average is divided, the  overall result will be the final average as mentioned in the first point, as the following:

the first year      5%                                                the third year      5%

the second year 5%                                               the  fourth year   20%

the fifth year   25 %                                               the sixth year      40%

Article (16): 

1-the results will be announced with the following assessment forms, and the student  level will be mentioned within the successful students as below:

excellent    90-100

very good   80-89

good   70-79

fair   60- 69

basic 50-59

failed  below 49 or ( less than 49)

2- If  students'  mark  numbers  have halves ,then there will addition to them ,but if  students'  mark  numbers  have  less than half( points),thus there will be no addition to them. 

Article(17): 

The university president  has the authority to forgive students  from the seasonal or mid-term exams on the recommendation of the college (institute) council, when a student has a reasonable justification, and the final exams will be out of (100%) in a subject or more, this rule is practiced rarely. 

Article(18):

The university council ,on the recommendation of  college(institute) council, is able not count the failed year for a student who failed in the second sitting  subjects in the second year by a reason outside his/her power.

Article(19): 

The period to finish study  in university is as the following:

1- For those students who were accepted before 2006-2007,the regular study period is multiplied by two in colleges(institutes). 

2- For those students who were accepted in 2006-2007,the regular study period is multiplied by one and half  in colleges(institutes) .

3-If a student failed to pass a stage two years, then he/she will be expelled.

4-The finished study period excludes postponing and forgiving years, on the condition that the postponing years must not be more than two years for four years-study and must not be more than three years for the sixth year study. 

Article(20):

If it is proved that a student cheated on any daily, weekly, seasonal or final exams ,then he/she would be treated as a failure in all the subjects of the year and if he repeated it ,he/she will be expelled in the college(institute) 

Article(21):

1- If a student at the third year of study is expelled, he/she will study at the second stage of institute.

2- If a student at the second year of study is expelled, he/she will study at the first stage of institute.

3-An expelled student at any stage of study at college must study at the first stage of institute, if  his/her specialization is not available in the institutes. 

Article(22):

1- Students can postpone their study for one year with a reasonable justification ,on the condition that college(institute)council accepts, and the request must be applied at least one month before the beginning the final exams. 

2- The university president, on the recommendation of  college(institute) council, is able  to postpone a student's study for the second year with a reasonable justification ,on the condition that he accepts, and the request must be applied at least one month before  the beginning the final exams.

3- A student cannot postpone his/her study in course system studies in the second course ,unless having an excuse outside his/her power, and must be passed in the first course , thus the whole year is dealt as postponed.

4- The minster of higher education and scientific research, on the recommendation of  university council, has the power  to postpone a student's study for the third year and final with a reasonable justification ,on the condition that he accepts ,with taking into account what is mentioned in article (21).

Article(23):

Before the final exams ,studying in college(institute) is stopped for a period no more than three days
